Now more than ever, Idaho’s drive-in movie theaters are something to be cherished. The Gem State is home to quite a few old-fashioned drive-in theaters, many of which have been operating for decades. However, the Teton Vu Drive-In in Rexburg has proven to be especially beloved among movie lovers. As one of the most popular drive-in theaters in the state, a visit to this outdoor destination is the perfect activity for the days of social distancing!
Located in Rexburg, Idaho, the Teton Vu Drive-In is an awesome spot where families can come and enjoy a movie the old-fashioned way.
This charming single-screen theater has been serving the community with awesome flicks and fresh popcorn since it opened in 1955. Although regular movie theaters have unfortunately been closed the last few months, the Teton Vu has been up and running like any other year.
The Teton Vu is open seasonally every year from around March through October. During this time they are open every evening for double features that include both old and new releases. With current film releases being pushed back, the Teton Vu has shifted focus to classic films like The Land Before Time and The Karate Kid.
The theater has also added a few guidelines this year to ensure social distancing. Guests are asked to maintain a distance of six feet between other patrons while outside their vehicles. Guests are also encouraged to purchase tickets online, although you can still purchase at the booth if need be.
Popcorn, soda, and packaged candies can be purchased inside the concession stand. Guests can place an order online ahead of time and pick it up at the window. Outside food and drinks are only allowed with the purchase of a food permit at the gate. The permit costs $2 per adult.
Be sure to tune into 107.7 FM for the movie's audio! If your car radio isn't the best, you can always rent a portable radio at the concession stand. And don't forget to bring plenty of blankets and pillows to create that perfect moviegoing experience.
A night at the drive-in is the perfect activity for maintaining social distance AND creating some awesome family memories. See what's playing at the Teton Vu Drive-In and purchase your tickets for your next movie night here .
