There’s a lot to see while driving through the back roads of New Hampshire. That’s why we try to give you so many road trip options. The scenic routes are fantastic, but every so often you come across something at the side of the road that doesn’t actually count as…nature. These are the attractions that make the kids stare out the window and adults look twice. Check this one out!
Drive down Market Street and you might notice a strange large metal structure lying seemingly in a...ditch.
Today you can go inside the submarine to see the periscope operator’s station and the radio operator’s station. There’s even an old-school typewriter. There’s a lot to see if you pull off and take a look. Including the navigation table, the mess hall and even the sleeping quarters.
There’s already a lot to do in Portsmouth, but if you take a small detour you might be surprised at just how interesting this unexpected road side attraction really is.
