Hunger comes in a lot of different forms. Sometimes you just want a snack. Other times you’re in need of something substantial. Something that’s going to fill your belly and keep you satisfied for hours. When that kind of hunger hits, only one thing will work, and that’s a burger. Whether you like things simple with just lettuce and tomato or you want something with toppings you’ve never even considered before, this spot has you covered.
Would it be possible for us to love Haywire Burger Bar in Westbrook more than we already do? Unlikely! This place is incredible and there's no way anyone ever leaves unsatisfied.
First, we love the decor. The space is airy and things here are contemporary and fun. The walls have lots of fun art and the vibe is buzzing with positivity!
But, it's the burgers that keep us coming back for more. Each one is inventive and delicious. This one is loaded with a juicy patty and fried onion straws. The perfect combination.
Each hamburger features an 8-ounce, hand formed patty made with 100% Black Angus beef. The meat is freshly ground in-house and is always from cattle raised in a humane environment without any antibiotics or hormones. Sounds good to us!
We especially love when they have specials seasonally. This November menu item features duck bacon, cheese, cherries simmered with brandy and crystallized ginger, orange-zested ginger mayo, atop chicken breast on a croissant bun.
And the really adventurous will appreciate the Cheddar Apple Burger featured on the Fall Harvest menu. It came with apple compote, cheddar crisp, honey drizzled organic arugula greens, fresh rosemary herbed mayo on a garlic grilled brioche roll. Yep, we'll take two!
Not sure you want a whole burger? Get yourself some apps like these wings and Haywire fries which come with house chili, spicy Cheddar sauce, pickled jalapeños, sour cream and green onion.
And once you've done that, you're definitely going to need to get the fried pickles. Don't worry about getting full, just worry about getting satisfied because that's exactly how you'll leave Haywire Burger Bar.
