The Summer Run ride will be offered Wednesday through Sunday beginning June 3rd and will operate at 50 percent capacity (for now), with enhanced cleaning protocols and open-air seating. This 3-hour excursion makes for a great summer day trip in Kentucky.
At the halfway point, you'll make a stop at the Barthell Coal Camp, the site of the Stearns Company’s Mines 1 and 2, which is now privately owned and restored.
You'll have time to stretch your legs and walk around this site which offers plenty of history, but also more of those incredible views.
While other train rides in Kentucky are scenic and exciting, the views in this particular area are quite remarkable and unlike what many expect to see in Kentucky.
