If you’re at all familiar with going camping here in New York, then you already know that when it comes to reserving your favorite campsites, you can only book them out as far as 9-months in advance. Well, while many stressful results have come along with the COVID-19 pandemic, one thing you have to look forward to now is the fact that you can book all of your favorite camping spots for the year of 2021 – no need to wait for 9-months or less to book them! Before the COVID-19 pandemic, here in New York State, camping reservations could only be made within a 1-day to 9-month window prior to the date you were looking to book your campsite.

Thankfully though, New York State announced that it has temporarily lifted its 9-month reservation window restriction for camping - allowing New Yorkers and out-of-state visitors the chance to transfer their existing reservations that were canceled into the 2021 season.

For those who make the decision to transfer their reservations to 2021, the change fee will be waived until June 11th - but only for online transactions. Another thing to note is that there is no guarantee that your same dates for 2020 will be available for next year, so you’ll want to make these reservations ASAP.

Don't worry though, you don’t have to already have a reservation in need of transfer though in order to book for 2021, new reservations are also being made and accepted!
