Deep within Jefferson National Forest awaits a secluded trail with ample scenery at every turn.
Clocking in at five miles, Cascades National Recreation Trail requires a few hours to complete. Along the way, you can look forward to admiring the natural beauty of the woods and the sounds of a rushing creek.
The hike begins by following Little Stony Creek for approximately two miles. Crossing the water over a series of scenic bridges is one of many highlights of this trek.
Two miles beyond that awaits a scenic overlook of New River Valley. If you have the time and energy to continue to this landmark, you'll be amazed by the panoramic view and nearby rock formations.
