No matter what part of Montana you call home, you’ve probably had a few days that feel like we’re getting a whole lot closer to ice cream season. And coincidentally, one of Montana’s oldest and most beloved drive-in eateries and ice cream shops just opened for the season. If you happen to live in Pondera County, you’re probably pretty excited about the return of The Main Drive-In.

The Main Drive-In is located on Main Street in Conrad, where it has been for decades.

And while a few things have changed since it opened in 1956, it definitely still maintains a nice, friendly, 50s vibe and a vintage charm.
The Main Drive-In is only open seasonally, typically from April through September.

Its annual opening always gives locals something to look forward to.
This place stays perpetually packed all summer as people enjoy the old-fashioned ordering system, including car hops.
