When things feel uncertain sometimes the only thing that helps us feel better is a deliciously home-cooked meal. While we’d love to stop by Grandma’s house every time we feel that way, sometimes it’s just not possible. And that’s why we’re so grateful to the small, local restaurants that treat us like family. It’s even better when the food is delicious!
Welcome to Nonna's Kitchen in Gorham, where the food is comforting, the service is caring and the plates are...huge!
Nonna's Kitchen, around since 2017, is named for the grandmother of the family who owns and operates it. That's right, this place is totally family-run!
And that might be what makes their authentic, home-cooked Italian food so good. Dishes like gnocchi can really only be prepared by folks who know what they're doing and it's clear that things here are perfection.
In addition to being delicious, these artfully prepared dishes are also huge. Check out the size of these meatballs and the pasta on which they're served!
Nonna's Kitchen refers to themselves as "upscale food, in a casual setting" which is one of the things we love most about them. Dishes such as Cioppino, a classic tomato-based seafood stew with mussels, clams, cod and shrimp, feel fancy but the vibe is totally unfussy.
Their shrimp scampi includes large pieces of shrimp in a sauce of white wine, garlic, butter and fresh parsley. And of course it's served over linguini.
Nonna’s Kitchen is open Thursday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. You can learn more about them and see the full menu on their website. Or, you can follow them on Facebook. You can reach them on 603-915-9203.
