Big Cypress Tree State Park is located in Tennessee's Weakley County and gets its name from the species of old bald cypress tree on the property.

Its most famed tree stood on the grounds for roughly 1,350 years before it was struck by lightning and killed in 1976. It was once the largest bald cypress in the United States and the largest of any species to the east of the Mississippi.

There's a 1,000-foot boardwalk trail that will take you through the flooded forestland, which is majestic but short. You won't need to be in a rush in this park which is a good thing because you will have time to meander through the wilderness area and explore the fine details and really appreciate the beauty.
