A treasured Corning tradition for more than half a century, the Olive Pit is considered a must-visit for olive lovers across Northern California. Still family owned and operated to this day, this roadside olive shop has all of the olive products you could possibly desire!
It all started 53 years ago when Pete and Ann Craig began displaying jars of their own spectacular olives on a small shelf inside of a frosty and hamburger stand. To their surprise, the olives began to fly off the shelf, and the Olive Pit was born!
The store has expanded quite a bit since those early days. Today, visitors who drop into the Olive Pit can explore a massive variety of olives and olive-related products, along with the recently added wine and craft beer tasting room.
Seriously, olive lovers will find themselves in paradise as they peruse the endless options here. Here you'll find olives that have been stuffed with all kinds of things, including garlic, anchovies, habaneros, jalapeños, bleu cheese, and so much more.
However, olives aren't the only thing that the Olive Pit sells. You'll also find a wide variety of oils, nuts and butters, spices, snacks, spreads, vinegar, jams, etc. Whether you're looking for something specific or just browsing, it's nearly impossible to leave this charming shop empty-handed.
Don't forget to stop into the cafe for a bite to eat! Serving up fresh and delicious eats including popular items like a flame-broiled burger, muffuletta sandwich, and egg breakfast sandwich, this is a great spot to grab something quick but filling to eat.
Nothing beats visiting this humongous olive shop in person, but you can always order some of the shop's famous olives online at their website and have these delicious goodies shipped right to your door. Boasting some of the best olives in NorCal, there's simply no better place to go for your snacking needs.
