As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to wreak havoc across the state of New York, you’ll find that residents of Buffalo are all following a somewhat similar schedule. With our favorite attractions temporarily closed and all of our restaurant’s dining rooms with their doors closed shut to the general public, we hope to bring you a bit of laughter during these trying times. If you’re ready to slightly take your mind off of the seriousness of things, then you’ll surely get a kick out of this daily quarantine schedule that we’ve put together!
8 a.m. - Get dressed
While you may not be able to gather with all of your friends and family to watch your favorite sports games, that doesn't mean you can't wear still wear all your Buffalo merchandise.
9 a.m. - Breakfast
Start your morning off right with a trip to Mazurek's Bakery, one of the many delicious businesses that still has their doors open during the pandemic. How are you going to survive COVID-19 without one of Mazurek's sweets in hand?
10 a.m. - Check the news
Due to the fact that the city's run out of tests, the number of infected Buffalonians right now is unexact, but there are still plenty of updates to read up on.
11 a.m. - Head to the store
The most trying time of the day, heading to your local Wegmans and markets nowadays feels like you're in the Hunger Games. Be kind and make sure to maintain a safe distance from other shoppers.
12 p.m. - Make lunch
With many of our local markets running low on basic foods and supplies, you may find yourself feeling like you've been thrown into an episode of Chopped after making a run to the store. What quarantine dishes have you creatively been coming up with?
1 p.m. - Conference call with work
So, which type of work-at-home Buffalonian are you? The type who gets all dolled up for your Zoom conference call or the type who's unashamed to let their coworkers see them slightly disheveled in your favorite Buffalo Bills jersey?
2 p.m. - Make a playlist
If you hadn't heard the news, in order to keep COVID-19 at bay, you'll want to wash your hands for at least 30 seconds, which has lead to many Buffalonians seeking out songs to sing along to! Now's the time to put together the ultimate hand-washing playlist.
3 p.m. - Get some fresh air
Practicing social distancing doesn't mean that you have to say goodbye to seeing the light of day, so now's a great time to take advantage of all the wonderful places where you can stretch your legs and get some fresh air.
4 p.m. - Take a nap
After bustling through the grocery stores and soaking up some sun, you've earned yourself a nap on your cozy couch.
5 p.m. - Dinner with your co-workers
Before this pandemic, they were just your family members... but now, these guys are bound to be your co-workers for the next upcoming weeks.
6 p.m. - FaceTime a friend
In an effort to make sure that you don't forget what your favorite people look like, be sure to use FaceTime, Skype, Facebook chat, or whatever your preference may be, to get a hold of your friends and family.
7 p.m. - Shower and wash up
Time to put that playlist to use and wash the day off of you!
8 p.m. - Time for drinks
Just because you can't sit in a bar full of Buffalonians right now, doesn't mean that you can't still grab drinks from your favorite local breweries and businesses. If you take a look around here in Buffalo, you'll find most of our favorite spots still open for to-go orders, so you won't have to go thirsty while you self-quarantine.
9 p.m. - Check social media
Before you go to bed and after you've had your drinks, it's time to sit back and watch all the drama of COVID-19 unfold on your social media feeds.
10 p.m. - Time for bed
Congratulations, Buffalo! You've made it through another day in 2020.
