Hiking through Iowa is a great way to get some fresh air, take in the sights, and truly appreciate the nature and wildlife you can find in your own backyard. One of the most popular trails in Iowa, the Clive Greenbelt Trail, is known for showing off unprecedented beauty in an otherwise urban area, just outside of West Des Moines. Have you hiked it yet?
The Trail is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, and you can find out more on the Travel Iowa website here.
For a more remote adventure, or if you’re looking for a hiking trip in the western part of Iowa, read about The Chute And Heritage Trail in the Loess Hills.
