The Root Beer Store In Utah Has More Than 100 Varieties
Root beer has a long history, with origins going back to the 13th century when people mixed dandelion and burdock to make a drink similar to the root beer that’s familiar to us. Modern root beer was likely invented by Charles Hires as a cure-all beverage made of 25 different herbs, berries, and roots. He mixed his potion with carbonated water and introduced it at the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition in 1876 and it was an instant hit. Because root beer consists of so many different ingredients, it’s easy to come up with many different varieties, much like regular beer. There’s a Utah store that offers more than 100 varieties.
