Maine has no shortage of wonderful hole-in-the-wall spots for simple meals to share with friends. No matter what part of the state you call home, ask around and you’re sure to get a great recommendation. Of these little spots, drive-ins are pretty much our favorite. They offer a chance to remember some simpler times, and we can all use that. If you like your seafood drive-ins with a side of nostalgia, this is the place for you! And the best news? They open for the 2020 season on March 20th!
Welcome To Ken's Place in Scarborough! Located just off Pine Point Road, this spot has been a must-stop since 1927! That's a pretty good indication that they know what they're doing.
Ken's Place might have "drive-in" as part of the name, but the food they offer feels so much more involved than what you might expect to get at a quick drive-in. But, what we love is that that classic vibe is there, allowing for nostalgic feels and fun.
And, in perfect Maine fashion, they serve up some of the best seafood around. Try stopping at a drive-in in the midwest to get this many seafood options and you're likely to be very disappointed. But, of course, that's why we're in Maine, right?
In addition to lobster rolls and fried fish platters and sandwiches, you can also get local lobster at Ken's Place. With it you'll get melted butter, fries and bread. Exactly what you need to make your Maine dreams come true.
You've just enjoyed one of the best dining experiences in the state.
Ken’s Place will open on March 20th. They’re open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can learn more about them and stay up to date on opening day through their Facebook page. You can reach them on 207-883-6611.
