One of the most interesting parts of Fort Duffield is the uphill hike to reach the historic cemetery.

While it is a bit of a climb up the hill, it is absolutely worth it for the historical significance and the views of the valley.
During the construction of the fort, 61 men died and they are laid to rest on Memorial Hill.

It is a reverant place to reflect on our state's past. If you look on the right side of the photo above, you'll see there are benches and an overlook on the hill where you can rest and take it all in.
Be sure to spend time exploring all of the property, as there are historic features throughout.
