Recently, Yelp released a list of the top 100 restaurants in America to dine in. Earning a spot on this list is no small order given just how many restaurants the country has, so to see an eatery that started as a food truck in Washington on the list was pretty amazing. That would be Kirkland’s The Box, a place for delicious burgers and surprisingly affordable authentic Hawaiian food.

Owner Reis Llaneza has a background in fine cuisine, and he wanted to bring delicious upscale Hawaiian cuisine to Kirkland... but he wanted to start small.

It doesn't get much smaller than a food truck, so The Box was soon born.
This lunch truck immediately skyrocketed in popularity as people realized that not only was the food delicious but also affordable.

Llaneza's chicken karaage and pork belly and kalua pork bao tacos earned him quite a following.
Eight years later, the food truck expanded into a small restaurant in Kirkland, The Box and Burgers Eatery.
