When it comes to Colorado restaurants that are as historic as they are easy-to-recognize, there is no place quite like The Fort. Located in Morrison, The Fort boasts not only one of the most unique exteriors and ambiances in the Centennial State, but also one of the best menus, which comes complete with gigantic, melt-in-your-mouth prime rib:
Opened in 1963, The Fort was initially built as a dream home for owners Sam'l P. and Elizabeth "Bay" Arnold but ended up doubling as a restaurant when the cost to finish the structure got to be too much.
Modeled after the famous Bent's Fort in La Junta, The Fort restaurant is nestled away on the first floor of the Adobe-style structure, with the Arnold family home located just above it.
When you visit The Fort, you can expect to find a unique menu comprised of Old West-inspired foods, including Colorado-grown steaks, large game plates, and...
...The best prime rib you will ever have!
Available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, The Fort's tasty $39 Buffalo Prime Rib Weekend Dinner Special is one that cannot be missed, as it includes a mouthwatering 8-ounce cut of buffalo prime rib, Famous Fort Salad, freshly baked bread, mashed potatoes, and a vegetable.
Never had buffalo prime rib? You are in for a treat, my friend!
In addition to the stellar food and service, The Fort also offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountainside, which can be enjoyed from both the patio and dining room.
