Test Your Strength When You Visit Montana's Very First Axe-Throwing Spot, Lumberjaxe Throwing Co.
Axe-throwing is an old sport, but it’s enjoying a new revival in bars and fun centers across the nation. And while this activity seems like the most Montana thing ever, it actually took until 2018 for the concept to catch on in the Treasure State. These days, Lumberjaxe Throwing Co. is a fun Missoula hangout, with another location opening in Bozeman in the near future. Here’s why you should check out this surprisingly safe sport.

The team seeks to create a fun, exciting atmosphere with one goal: to stick the axe.

And even though they now have a brick-and-mortar location, they still have a mobile unit with two throwing lanes you can rent by the hour.

Lumberjaxe has skilled axe coaches that will be able to teach you the art of axe throwing (and safety precautions) to help you gain confidence.

All throwers must be at least 16 years old to participate, except on specially dedicated days. Currently, all ages can throw on Sundays.

The facility features eight throwing lanes that can each accommodate six guests. They also have featured bays with two targets that are meant for larger groups.

And while the facility doesn't serve alcohol, you're welcome to BYOB -- but please use that privilege responsibly, or you'll be asked to leave.

And we're certain it will be just as successful as the original spot.
