There is perhaps no dish more uniquely Hawaiian than poke, a raw fish salad that usually consists of cubed aku (an oily tuna), he’e (octopus), or ahi (yellowfin tuna) marinated with sea salt, soy sauce, sesame oil, limu seaweed, and chili powder. The delicious dish is currently taking over the mainland, though Hawaii obviously still does it best and you might be surprised to discover one of our new favorite poke spots is brought to you by the one and only Foodland.
Redfish Poke Bar is located at SALT at Kaka’ako and is open for dining Sunday through Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. — no reservations are required. The takeout counter is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. For more information, visit their website.
