The Twin City Model Railroad Museum is a little-known spot in St. Paul, Minnesota, that happens to be a train lover's paradise. The museum is known for its enormous display of model railroads.
The museum holds special events throughout the year. For example, during the Circus Train event, a tiny model town is set up to receive a traveling circus train! The fun details and whimsical scenes will delight any visitor.
Perhaps the most popular event, though, is the annual Night Trains event. During the winter season, the museum opens up in the evening for a delightful, festive show.
The overhead lights are dimmed, so the only illumination is the model railroad. In addition to its usual lights, it is also decked out with twinkling lights string lights. Together, it creates an air of festivity that you won't want to leave behind.
There are even areas modeled after Minnesota landmarks, like this ice castle from the St. Paul Winter Carnival! Look out for other Twin Cities landmarks as well. They are a favorite for many who visit the museum!
Entry to Night Trains is $15 per person. For families, the first two pay full-price, and every additional entrant pays $7.50. Children up to 4 get in free. This is a great value for families with budding train lovers - or simply those who crave a unique holiday experience.
Night Trains runs every Saturday evening 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. from November 2, 2019 to February 29, 2020. Visit the Twin City Model Railroad Museum website and Facebook page for up-to-date information!
