If you head into downtown Anchorage, you’ll find one of the best purveyors of fried chicken in the state. Lucky Wishbone is a fantastic restaurant that has been around for over 60 years, so they’ve had plenty of time to craft perfection. Head to this fantastic little spot next time you’re craving the best chicken you’ve ever had!
Lucky Wishbone opened its doors in downtown Anchorage in 1955.
For 63 years they've been serving the best burgers and crispy pan- fried chicken you can find in Alaska. Both locals and tourists frequent this place, and everyone raves not just about the tasty food, but great service too.
Their fried chicken is dipped in buttermilk, and then lightly battered before being pan-fried until golden and crispy.
They're served in a basket with a roll and butter, and a choice of Cole slaw or french fries. Your size choices are "Pop" which comes with five pieces of chicken, "Mom", which comes with three pieces, or "Junior", which comes with two.

There's so many different fried chicken options available.
You can have your choice of dark or white meat options for your chicken. You also get to choose thighs, wings, breast, backs, and gizzards, livers, or giblets when available.
Try their chiliburger served with cheese and onions, or any of their Jumbo options. Each Jumbo patty is hand made with 1/4 pound of beef, and topped with all of your favorite fixings.
Although the pan fried chicken is without a doubt the best thing on the menu, they have a wide array of items!
But if you want to pair that delicious chicken with something healthier, they do have great salads available. They also have a great soup selection as well, with over eight different soup choices each day.
Their milkshakes are fabulous, and people love finishing off their fried chicken dinners with something sweet.
Swing by Monday through Thursday 10:30 a.m. through 10:00 p.m. On Friday or Saturday you can visit from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Sunday's hours are 11:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m.
