Surf Taco may have Acapulco vibes but it’s a New Jersey institution. It got its start along the Jersey Shore in 2001 and has grown into a local chain with 13 locations in the Garden State (and one in Florida). They serve up a sizable selection of tacos, nachos, quesadillas, salads, smoothies, shakes, and burritos. There are plenty of burritos to choose from, but if you’re up for a challenge…
You'll want to try their legendary Tsunami Burrito!
Char-grilled chicken, rice, beans, jack & cheddar cheeses, lettuce, sour cream and pico de gallo, wrapped in TWO extra-large flour tortillas, smothered in melted jack & cheddar cheeses and their roasted red pepper enchilada sauce. It's topped with guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo, and served with chips.
Go for the Teriyaki Bowl (teriyaki chicken, chopped pineapple, fresh avocado, pico de gallo and sesame seeds served over rice) or the Aloha Glow (pineapple juice, strawberries, bananas, sherbet, and ice).
The dessert selection is on the smaller side but oh-so-sweet!
Try the Oreo Explosion or Caribbean Bananas, both treats feature tempura battered goodness.
Surf Taco is a great place to grab a meal and you can find it all over. Locations can be found in: Belmar, Jackson, Lacey, Long Branch, Manasquan, Point Pleasant Beach, Red Bank, Seaside Park, Silverton, Ship Bottom, Rutgers, Hoboken, and Princeton.
