Stand up and take a bow, Philadelphia drivers! You’ve earned a spot on the list of America’s best drivers for 2019. Philadelphia, in fact, came in at No. 16 with Pittsburgh just a few spots below at No. 20. Allentown ranks No. 31 of 35, according to study results released by QuoteWizard.com. Here’s a look at how QuoteWizard.com determined three cities in Pennsylvania have some of the best drivers in the nation.
To determine what cities in the United States boast the best and the worst drivers, QuoteWizard.com first identified the 75 largest cities in the nation. Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Allentown were the only Pennsylvania cities to make the cut.
The insurance comparison website then examined driver data from millions of insurance quotes. Quote Wizard.com used four main criteria to rate each city's driving prowess.
The cities that made the top 35 did so by having the fewest incidents while those with the worst drivers in the U.S. have the highest number of incidents.
Detroit, Michigan, earned top marks as the city with the safest drivers. Portland, Oregon, on the other hand, had the highest number of incidents, making it the worst driving city.
