That’s because every year they host an event called the Festival of Lights in which the garden transforms into a glowing wonderland. Located in Fort Bragg, the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens are a beloved destination that boasts some of the most extraordinary displays of flowers and foliage. Wintertime may seem like a strange time to visit this colorful garden, but we can assure you that it's certainly not!
Every winter, the garden hosts an event called the Festival of Lights. This year, the event will run every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from November 29 through December 22. Tickets are required but they do not sell out for any date of the festival.
Now in its 10th year, the Festival of Lights is the one time of year that the garden transforms into a wonderful show of glittering color. The entire garden undergoes a complete makeover using strings of lights and other colorful displays.
Visitors will get the opportunity to stroll through this magical garden like never before. The beautiful natural setting combined with the dazzling displays makes for a fantastic experience that will impress both young and old.
In addition to entry into the glowing garden, visitors will also enjoy sweet treats, wine and beer, and live music. A different artist will be performing every night, so be sure to check the schedule ahead of time so you know what to expect.
It's no wonder more than 9,000 visitors come out to see the garden's Festival of Lights every year. This event is simply a must for local residents, and it's worth traveling for if you don't live in the region.
Tickets are just $10 per adult and can be purchased online now. Kids age 16 and under get free admission. Tickets are good for any date that the festival is happening.
