Few things top ghost ships in terms of creepiness, and the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi is no exception. This former WWII vessel has been transformed into a haunted house this Halloween, and it promises to be a spooktacular good time.
USS Lexington, a WWII ship that spend nearly two continuous years in combat, was commissioned in 1943. She earned the nickname "Blue Ghost" after emerging from a sunken, watery grave four times, and is destined to haunt the Corpus Christi waters for all eternity.
Equal parts majestic and foreboding, this historic craft has transformed into a haunted house this Halloween. Climb aboard and feel your pulse quicken as the entrance looms closer with each additional step.
Brave souls will navigate through more than 80 compartments, many of which have never been open to the public before. Prepare yourself to climb steep ladders, tiptoe down foreboding corridors, and endure unimaginable terrors.
Grotesque creatures lurk around every corner, just waiting to give unsuspecting visitors a surprise they won't soon forget. Creepy clowns, barbaric butchers, and ghastly ghouls are just a tiny snippet of the horrors you'll encounter.
You just might require an operation from all the heart-stopping scares, so it's a good thing plenty of doctors are on-site. Patients often discharge from this hospital in quite a different physical state than before, but who really needs all their organs anyway?
Tempting as it may be to not stick around any longer than necessary, there's an obligatory photo-op just before the exit. Strike the most genuinely frightened pose you can muster and forever cherish this festive moment.
Address: 2914 North Shoreline Boulevard, Corpus Christi, Texas 78402. Hours are 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday through November 2 (with the exception of Halloween night, which is a Thursday).
Will you be attending this exceptionally eerie event? If so, don’t forget to tell us all about it! Check out our previous article for more palm-sweating haunted houses to visit before October is over.
