In business since 1930, Edgewood Orchards in west-central Illinois is a family-owned and operated seasonal farm and autumn attraction that locals can't resist this time of year.
It is known for its homemade cider and apple cider slushies that are made on-site each and every year from a blend of the myriad of apples that grow at the orchard.
The orchard grows 12 to 13 varieties of apples, all of which go into its cider. They are also sold in the store. Types include Golden Delicious, Honey Crisp, Jonathan, Red Delicious, Gala, Fuji, and more.
Fresh cider and apple cider slushies are available throughout the harvest season. It is worth a trip from any part of the state to this remote farm to try their exceptional fruit.
