Pickles are perhaps one of the most underrated foods on the market, wouldn’t you say? Maybe because they’re polarizing, or perhaps because they’re usually an addition or appetizer as opposed to the main course. In Loudon, Tennessee however, the pickle takes the front and center spot come the end of summertime. Not just your average pickle, either. The fried pickle.
The fried pickle is a true hero in the American south. A salty, crunchy, decadent treat, it's won the hearts of locals and tourists alike.
This year, the colorful "tie-dyed & fried" festival takes place from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. on September 28, 2019 at the Loudon Municipal Park.

Come to nosh on all sorts of fried fare, including the famed fried pickle, and prepare to indulge in everything from funnel cakes to fried Oreos.

There will be live music, arts and craft booths, and even local businesses offering their wares all day long. Bringing the whole family? Check out the free bounce houses for the kids!
There will also be a petting zoo, pony rides and clowns. Although most of the festival is free, there are small fees for some attractions. Come with cash, just in case.
