Tucked away in the tiny town of Sorrento lies a fantastic hidden gem that’s worthy of a day trip. This little Cajun village in Louisiana is filled with unique shops, antiques, and even a live alligator pond. Bring the whole family out, because there’s something for everyone at this tiny little Cajun village. Let’s check it out.
Conveniently located between New Orleans and Baton Rouge, the Cajun Village in Sorrento is a hidden gem that’s worthy of a road trip from any corner of the state.
While you’re strolling through the village, be sure to pop into the Coffee House, where you can refuel with some coffee and beignets. They also have a full breakfast menu that’s served all day, plus several sandwiches, and Cajun classics for lunch.
You might just want to stay a little longer — and that’s great! You can rent one of these cozy Cajun cottages to extend your stay and have a truly relaxing weekend.
Before you leave, be sure to check out the pond, which is home to "Big Boy" and "Nubby," their two resident alligators. You can catch live feedings from April to September on Sundays at 4 p.m.
