With more than 10 years of experience as a professional writer, Megan holds a degree in Mass Media from her home state of Minnesota. After college, she chose to trade in her winter boots for slippahs and moved to the beautiful island of Oahu, where she has been living for more than five years. She lives on the west side but is constantly taking mini-road trips across the island and visits the neighboring islands whenever she can getaway. She loves hiking, snorkeling, locally-grown coffee, and finding the best acai bowl on Oahu.
With approximately 750 miles of stunning coastline, there is absolutely no doubt in our minds that the Hawaiian Islands are home to some of the world’s best beaches. And while you can find many of these stunning beaches nestled on the side of the road, clearly marked and with dedicated parking lots, we prefer the off-the-beaten-path gems. This incredible, hard-to-find trail, for example, takes adventurers on a short, shady path through the forest to not one, but two beautiful beaches — and that’s not all you’ll discover on this epic trail. Grab your beach bag and let’s explore!
You’ll find the entrance to the trail across the street from Kahuku Land Farm. Park on the side of the road, and don’t leave any valuables in your car as break-ins are common.
Have you ever explored this stunning trail system on Oahu’s north shore before? Which of these two beaches is your favorite: Kawela Bay or Hidden Beach? If not, what are you waiting for? This paradise is just begging to be visited!
