Taking place Labor Day weekend, August 31 through September 2, 2019, in central Illinois, the Arthur Cheese Festival is a grand event that locals look forward to all year long. This will be the 47th year for the fest, which features activities for all ages.
The most popular events that take place at this cheese festival are the cheese eating championship, the parade, and the rat race and cheese race. There is also live entertainment and cheese curling, which draw large crowds.
Cheese fans will find their favorite food in just about every variety. Enjoy cheeses you can eat at the fair as well as plenty you can take home to enjoy later.
In addition to all the activities, another huge draw to this fest is the craft fair, which features anywhere from 75 to 100 vendors. This is in addition to the food and includes merchants of clothing, home decor, holiday wares, jewelry, and so much more.
Home to about 2,200 residents, this small Amish town sees a very large increase in population during the festival. Join in for its most exciting time of year.
