Anderson Ferry in Cincinnati is a hidden gem for visitors and a best kept secret for locals. It’s a national landmark that few Ohioans even know exists. Whether you’re looking for a shortcut to bypass some traffic or feeling adventures in the Queen City, here’s why this one-of-a-kind ferry trip belongs on your Ohio bucket list:
For more than 200 years, a little-known ferry has carried passengers across the Ohio River from Ohio, Kentucky and the Indiana tri-state area.
Address: 1 Anderson Ferry Road, Cincinnati, OH 45204
Now a Nationally Registered U.S. Historic Site, Anderson Ferry dates back to 1817. Although it's no longer powered by horses walking along a treadmill, it still transports passengers today.
This little-known ferry is located just one mile from I-275 and less than 3 miles from the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, making it an excellent shortcut.
