Touring through the Ouachita National Forest is lovely on foot but can you imagine speeding through the canopy of trees? You may not expect to have an adrenaline-inducing adventure at this historic farm on the outskirts of Mena, but you’re in for a treat. Visit the Blue Farm for a ziplining adventure and even more fun. Let’s go for the zips but stay for the night as we tour this exciting farm.
This farm's history dates back more than 120 years, but that's not the only reason to stop and visit The Blue.
Located east of Mena in the tiny town of Ink, this farm was originally built in 1897 by George and Frannie Wyatt. Today, their great-great-granddaughter Shelly Alston operates the 150-acre cattle farm. The history of this Arkansas Century Farm is extensive but the more recent additions are why you'll want to plan a visit.

Owner Shelly Alston wanted to create an exciting outdoor experience for her autistic son but the dream has now evolved into an adventure every family can enjoy.
The farm opened to the public in 2010 with kid-friendly workshops covering everything from clay making to sustainability. The goal of every new endeavor added to farm is to raise money and awareness to autism, hence the name "The Blue." The ziplines are a newer feature that opened in 2018.
The zips zoom over the historic forest filled with trees that are more than 300 years old. The lines are set up along the banks of the Iron Fork River for a beautiful backdrop to your trip. In addition to the mile of zips for ages 5 and up (up to 275 lbs.), a mini zipline course is also offered for those weighing 40-60 lbs. The "wee ones" course travels along three zips which covers about 135 feet.

The ziplines are perfect for adrenaline junkies, families, and team building groups! However, be sure to explore the rest of the farm during your stay.
Besides the workshops and ziplines, you can also camp at the farm. Pitch a tent or park your RV for a primitive experience to reconnect with nature. Camping is only $22/night and can be booked through this site.
