Washington is a nature lover’s paradise, and even when you live in a large city, you’re never far away from it. Their downtown park sits right on the Spokane River, and it’s an incredible place to spend a day.

Recently, the park and its attractions were renovated, which is still a bit of a work in progress. And it's safe to say things have never looked better.
The park still has all of its classic landmarks, and of course, a river runs through it.

The historic Looff Carrousel dates all the way back to 1909 when it was built by Charles I. D. Looff as a gift for his daughter, Emma Vogel, and her husband Louis Vogel.

The carousel still has its original 1900 Ruth & Sohn band organ. But due to its age, a digitized recording plays while the ride is in motion.
The carousel has been charming little locals for generations and it's still as popular as ever.

A single ride is $2,50, but you can score an unlimited day pass for $5.50. Occasionally, the park will offer free rides.

The Spokane River Walk is a 1.9-mile path that winds right through the park.
And of course, there's no need to litter when the garbage eating goat is always hungry.

The goat was created for the 1974 Spokane World's Fair, and while he's not always this fancy, he is always ready for a meal.
There's never a bad time to visit Riverfront Park, but of course, summers are especially amazing.
