Casea Peterson grew up archery hunting, fishing, and camping throughout the Pacific Northwest. Motivated by her love for the outdoors she moved to Alaska to attend school and to spend time exploring the last frontier. If she doesn’t have a pen in hand or her nose in a book, she can be found out on a lake or up in the woods around a fire with friends.
Alaska is the destination for multiple outdoor activities, especially fishing. Our state boasts year-round fishing, from Salmon, Trout, Halibut, Dolly Varden and Acrtic Grayling, to ice fishing when the lakes are frozen. The peak season, May-September, will have you reeling in all four major species of Salmon. With all this great angling around the state, we’ve decided to offer you one great spot to fish in each region. Don’t forget before you head out to buy the correct fishing license. Purchase them here at the Alaska Department of Fish and Game website.
If you know of any other great fishing spots in Alaska, which I’m sure you do, please leave them in the comments so we can do a part two and provide you with even more awesome angling destinations!
