It’s only natural that Arkansas’ most musical town would have a one-of-a-kind music store. Mountain View Music is so much more than just an instrument inventory, which you’ll know as soon as you walk up to their porch. Let’s stay a while and “pick” out our favorite things in this folksy shop.
Given the nature of this article we selected this Arkansas folk band for today’s musical accompaniment. You may be able to catch Sad Daddy play “Mountainside” in person since they frequently tour Mountain View and nearby towns as well!
As soon as you pull up to the drive you'll notice that this isn't your typical music store.
It's only appropriate that a music store specializing in folk instruments in the "Folk Capital of the World" would be in such a homey setting. Mountain View Music located inside the historic George W. Lackey House, which was built back in 1910. This family-owned business has been a prime spot for pickers for years! Plan for visit anytime between Tue - Sat from 10 am - 5 pm.

It'll take a few minutes to take in the plethora of merchandise when you walk in the door.
The amount of music is nearly overwhelming but such a treasure to peruse. This shop is more of a community gathering space than just a store so be prepared to spend an hour or two looking around and chatting with all of the friendly folks.

Mountain View Music specializes in folk instrument building, restoration, and appraising. If you're sticking around you can pick up a music lesson or two or just sit and watch the pieces come together for a new mandolin.
