There’s nothing better than sinking your teeth into some finger-licking good BBQ. You know – the kind that’s been slow-cooked for hours, served with your favorite BBQ sauce, then piled with all the best sides. Louisiana may not necessarily be known for BBQ, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have ample restaurants around the state that are churning out some mouthwateringly good meats. This one restaurant has locations in both Houma and Thibodaux, and it’s worth your while to pay them a visit and try their brisket. It will satisfy your soul.
When it comes to BBQ, Big Mike’s needs to be on everyone’s bucket list.
Owner Mike Lewis has won numerous awards in both BBQ sauce and BBQ cooking contests, so it's safe to say he knows his way around the smokehouse.
Their Houma location has been open for over 10 years, and it’s time you pay it a visit. They also have a location in Thibodaux, if you happen to live closer to that area.
Just like any good smokehouse should be, the vibes are casual and family-friendly. Bring the whole crew and prepare to feast on some of the most amazing BBQ you’ve ever tasted.

When you’re at Big Mike’s, you’re in it for the full experience. Start with the BBQ nachos, you won’t regret it.
This twist on a Mexican classic is topped with their juicy pulled pork, black bean and corn salsa, and queso blanco, then sprinkled with fresh cilantro. These are the perfect appetizer to order for the whole table, but we don’t blame you if you didn’t want to share - they’re that good.
