If you live in Colorado, I would like to personally congratulate you for living in the most brag-worthy state in the nation. Aside from the spectacular scenery and world-class outdoor opportunities, you also have reason to brag about:
1. How we *obviously* have the greatest team in the NFL...

2. ...not to mention the best quarterback in the history of the game.
3. Average 300 sunny days per year? Yeah, we got 'em.
4. The longest commercial street in the country just so happens to run through Colorado.
Colfax Avenue stretches a whopping 26.1 miles.
5. The majestic beauty of Pikes Peak inspired Katharine Lee Bates to pen one of the most iconic poems/songs about America.
"America the Beautiful" was written in 1893.
6. Because of its several thousand ancient sites, Mesa Verde is known as North America's richest archaeological preserve.
7. The Centennial State is home to more than 300 state wildlife areas and 42 state parks.
8. With more than 300 breweries, Colorado easily makes the Top 5 list of most microbreweries per capita.
9. Rocky Ford, Colorado is considered to be the "Melon Capital of the World."
Sweet Melon Capitol, indeed.
10. Colorado has more national designations than any other state in terms of scenic and historic byways.
In fact, eleven of the twenty-six are designated by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation as "America’s Byway."
11. The dome atop the Colorado State Capitol is adorned in 65 ounces of (donated) .9999 pure gold.
No biggie.
12. We're used to drinking at higher altitudes and have no trouble holding our liquor.
13. At 10,430 feet, Leadville is considered to be North America's highest incorporated city.
They can *really* hold their liquor.
14. Pueblo is home to four living Medal of Honor recipients.
15. The world's first rodeo was held in Deer Trail, Colorado on July 4, 1869.
16. Finally, Loveland (or "The Sweetheart City") re-mails more than 160,000 Valentines cards and letters each year as part of their annual Valentine Re-Mailing Program.
The Valentine Re-mailing Program was started in 1947 by then-postmasters Ted Thompson and Elmer Ivers.
