Located on the Thomas Amis Historic Site, the Amis Mill Eatery is a true Tennessee treasure. The property itself was built by its namesake, Thomas Amis, in 1780, and has since welcomed famous folks such as Andrew Jackson and Daniel Boone.
The Amis Mill Eatery itself is located right above the historic dam and waterfall that sits at the storied property's base. You can visit the gorgeous stone structure that is the original Amis House, then finish out your day of learning with a visit to the eatery itself.

The two-story deck that looks out over the natural landscape makes for a stunning ambiance. Family-friendly and open only from Thursday to Sunday, this unique Tennessee restaurant is well worth a visit.

The restaurant itself specializes in fresh seafood, Cajun dishes and tons of smoked meats. You'll find that all of the produce is grown either on the property or sourced from nearby, with seafood dishes hailing from vetted farms in North Carolina.
