Leah moved to North Dakota when she was 12 years old and has traveled from the Red River Valley to the badlands and many places in between. She loves small-town life and currently enjoys living on a small farm in the ND prairie. She's always had a passion for writing and has participated in novel writing challenges such as NaNoWriMo multiple times. Her favorite part about this job is recognizing small businesses that deserve a boost and seeing the positive affect her articles can have on their traffic, especially in rural areas that might have otherwise gone overlooked.
North Dakota doesn’t have many wineries, but it does have a handful and they’re all worth checking out. The very first winery established in the state is still going strong today and is a destination everyone should visit at least once. Now that it’s growing season, this winery is open for visits and tastings. You’ll definitely want to check it out before it’s winter again. Take a look:
This delightful winery is nestled on the prairie just outside of Minot, North Dakota.
The beautiful farm is open May through December every single day of the week. You can stop by for a tasting and enjoy the lovely grounds while you're there.
Although they do make grape wines, they also focus on North Dakota native plants and fruits. Rhubarb, chokecherry, strawberry, and honey are just a few of the other types of wines they create.
While you visit, you can enjoy the gorgeous sights of the area out on a deck overlooking the Souris River Valley. There are even hiking trails available on the property for a stroll.
With the incredible natural views, charming farm and winery, and delicious drinks to enjoy, you'll definitely want to make a point to visit this special North Dakota spot at least once in your lifetime.
