Michelle's life is a colorful map of exploration and adventure. From the iconic streets of New York to the sunny shores of Florida, the jagged coast of Maine to the rugged terrain of Montana, she's been fortunate to call some of America's most beautiful states home. Beyond the U.S., Michelle's wanderlust has taken her on a motorcycle journey through India, led her to teach English in Hanoi, and saw her studying Spanish in Guatemala. Michelle graduated with a communications degree from the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and in addition to a career in advertising has worked with OnlyInYourState since 2016, where her love for travel and storytelling converges. Alongside writing and exploring, Michelle finds joy in photography, staying active, and time with her family.

There are quite a few museums in Maine. From the wacky (ever been to a museum totally dedicated to umbrella covers?) to the educational, those seeking to understand more about the world around them will find plenty of ways to do it here in Vacationland. But, one of our favorite ways to enrich ourselves is through the consumption of the best sweet treat: chocolate! This factory tour is a veritable museum of all things chocolate and we’ve planned visits for all of our summer guests this year!
Wilbur’s of Maine Chocolate Confections in Freeport is open everyday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tours run on specific days, so be sure to check their schedule here. You can also visit them on Facebook or reach them by phone at 207-865-6129. Address: 174 Lower Main Street, Freeport, ME 04032.
They also have a location in Brunswick. They’re open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They’re closed on Sunday and Monday. You can reach them at 207-729-4462. Address: 143 Maine Street, Brunswick, ME 04011.
