Here in Alabama, we’re known for our excruciatingly hot weather when summer rolls around. In our experience, one of the best ways to beat the heat is to cool off in a refreshing dip in any ol’ body of water we can find. Luckily, there are more than a few swimming holes in Alabama to check out where you can do just that. In fact, some of these gorgeous spots you might not even know exist till you stumble upon them! One place where you’ll find not one, but two epic swimming holes to visit is in Blue Springs State Park. Here, you’ll find a pair of incredible spring-fed pools that are as idyllic as they come.

Who doesn't love the thrill of discovering waterfalls while exploring our great state? There are quite a few hidden waterfalls located throughout Alabama. However, not all of them flow into water that people can swim in, whether it be a lake, a creek, a river, etc. One of the hidden waterfalls that does indeed do this is Mardis Mill Falls.
Mardis Mill Falls is located near Blountsville, Alabama, and flows into Graves Creek. It has a span of 35 feet and a drop of approximately 15 feet. It's also accessible all year long. Of course, the best time of year to swim at Mardis Mill Falls is during the warmer months.
