While fires are not allowed on most New Jersey beaches, Asbury Park hosts beloved beach bonfires each summer. The season has already started, and I can’t wait to hit the shore. Bonfires are held at different locations along the boardwalk each week, so there’s always a change of scenery. The bonfires start at 7 p.m. on Fridays in May and June, 8 p.m. on Wednesdays in July and August, and 7 p.m. on Fridays in September. Here’s the schedule:

May 17 – Beach Bar, 5th Avenue – 7 p.m.

May 24 – The Anchor’s Bend, Sunset – 7 p.m.

May 31 – The Anchor’s Bend, Sunset – 7 p.m.

June 7 – Beach Bar, 5th Avenue – 7 p.m.

June 14 – MOGO, 1st Avenue – 7 p.m.

June 21 – Langosta Lounge, 3rd Avenue – 7 p.m.

June 28 – The Anchor’s Bend, Sunset – 7 p.m.

July 3 – The Anchor’s Bend, Sunset – 8 p.m.

July 10 – MOGO, 1st Avenue – 8 p.m.

July 17 – Langosta Lounge, 3rd Avenue – 8 p.m.

July 24 – Beach Bar, 5th Avenue – 8 p.m.

July 31 – The Anchor’s Bend, Sunset – 8 p.m.

August 7 – Beach Bar, 5th Avenue – 8 p.m.

August 14 – Beach Bar, 5th Avenue – 8 p.m.

August 21 – The Anchor’s Bend, Sunset – 8 p.m.

August 28 – Beach Bar, 5th Avenue – 8 p.m.

September 6 – The Anchor’s Bend, Sunset – 7 p.m.

September 7 – MOGO, 1st Avenue – 7 p.m.

September 13 – Langosta Lounge, 3rd Avenue – 7 p.m.

September 20 – MOGO, 1st Avenue – 7 p.m.

September 27 – Beach Bar, 5th Avenue – 7 p.m.

Bonfires are free and attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. Pack a picnic or grab food at one of the boardwalk’s wonderful restaurants.
