Sometimes, the best kept secrets are hiding in plain sight – like this ‘secret’ waterfall that rolls through a Greenville County park. The cascading waterfall(s) along Reedy River stretch for nearly a mile in this underrated and little known (except to the locals) oasis. If you haven’t heard of Cedar Falls Park near Fountain Inn, then you’re not alone. Most people in South Carolina have never heard of this county park.

Cedar Falls Park has a 2.2 mile loop trail that follows alongside the meandering waterfall for nearly a mile before it turns to bring you back to the start along a wooded trail. (You can always go back the way you came!)
Some of the waterfalls along the river in this park are tall and rage with rushing water right after a rain.

From the trail along the river, you'll have a front row view for the best scenery. Bring a picnic and find the perfect spot to relax and take in the peaceful views.
Cedar Falls Park used to be an ideal place to find a swimming hole; however, in recent years swimming here has been emphatically discouraged.

Arrive soon after a good rainfall to see the best water flow over the spillway and through the cast iron overflow pipes beneath. Much history lies in this old structure and Greenville County's park aims to preserve it for years to come.
Most people in the Palmetto State have yet to discover this awesome county park and its 'secret' (yet hiding in plain sight!) waterfall that stretches along the Reedy for nearly a mile.
