You may associate floral festivities with New York’s spring season, but it’s actually during the summer that you’ll get the chance to experience some of our state’s most wonderful aromatic adventures. We’ve previously mentioned how Lavender By The Bay in East Marion, New York is one of the country’s largest lavender farms – an outing that puts you in a sea of purple that you’ll never forget. If you’ve been wondering what other types of lavender farms exist here in the Empire State, then you’ll want to take a look at how this small-town farm hosts an annual festival that will blow you away.
Out in Wayne County in the teensy village of Red Creek where you're not too far from the shores of Lake Ontario, there's a small town farm that puts on an annual event you simply cannot miss.
Right on Upton Road, Olfactory Farm in Red Creek will be hosting their 12th annual Lavender Festival on Saturday, July 13th and Sunday, July 14th this year.
For more than ten years, this charming little farm has invited locals to its property to put on a festival that you'll wish you could experience every single weekend.
Happening on both days from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Lavender Festival you'll get the chance to stroll through the rows of lavender bushes in the summer sun.
The festival creates a unique way for New Yorkers to learn more about all that you can do with lavender, hosting informational events at the festival where you can learn how to cook with lavender and even its medical benefits.
Some of the most fun and exciting parts about the festival is trying out new things like lavender ice cream, lavender lemonade, and lavender-infused baked goods.
Each year you'll find a different schedule of events, with the lavender festival always being made up of delightful events where you'll get to work with lavender and also enjoy things like live music.
The Olfactory Farm Lavender Festival is a family-friendly event (and hey, kids 12-years old and younger get in for free), with plenty of areas specifically designed to keep the youngest of visitors happy throughout the weekend.
