There’s something about the simplicity of a good ol’ fashioned drive-in restaurant that you just can’t help but love. Maybe it has something do with the fact that you know exactly what you’re going to get when you visit one. No matter how long they’ve been around, they always stay the same. This beloved drive-in restaurant is a great example. It’s been around for over half a century , and they’re still going strong! Eating here is like taking part in a Northern California tradition, so be sure to stop by the next time you get a hankering for some old fashioned eats.
Stopping by Dude's Drive Inn in Redding is like experiencing a piece of Northern California history. They've been around since 1965, and they haven't changed one bit.
It all started when Lewis and Viola McCaslin moved to Redding and opened the restaurant as part of a franchise called Dari-Delite. They were later able to break off from the franchise and change the restaurant's name to Dude's Drive Inn.
Still owned by the McCaslin family, Dude's Drive Inn obviously has strong ties to the Redding community. Over the years, it's established itself as a place for locals to come together, relax, and enjoy each other's company while indulging in delicious food.
The drive-in restaurant is American food at its finest. Everything is made to order using fresh ingredients in order to provide a stellar dish that you're bound to remember. The hype around Dude's Drive Inn is certainly well deserved.
The atmosphere isn't the only thing that's old fashioned at Dude's. The prices are pretty old fashioned, too! Order up a "Big Dude" burger for just $4.99 or a regular burger for a mere $2.39.
Burgers are the obvious crowd favorite at Dude's, but they've got a variety of items on the menu to choose from. Order up a classic, no-frills hot dog, or deliciously simple grilled cheese. There's something for everyone.
There's a reason Dude's Drive Inn has been around for so long. See why locals are in love with this place and pay them a visit at 1644 Hartnell Ave, Redding, CA 96002. They are open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm.
