Locals love the short and sweet hikes found all around Buffalo, but if you’re ready to take to the trails in an unexpectedly awesome way, consider a visit to this charming small-town farm that’s less than 20 minutes from the city. Here, you can befriend some seriously cute creatures – and even head out for a hike with them! Have you ever met a llama? Now you can!
The lovely town of East Aurora is home to Hemstreet Farm Llamas, which offers a family-friendly adventure that you'll be thrilled to discover.
The historic farm was originally built back in 1825 on the Buffalo Creek Reservation of the Seneca Nation, and its former barns and a sawmill are now used as stables for the farm's llamas.
Hemstreet Farm is open for visitors and tours year-round, but there’s one especially awesome activity offered here that truly stands out - llama hikes!
It’s the perfect family-friendly outing that allows for a hands-on experience with these gentle animals. Children ages 8 years and older are allowed to lead their own llamas, while younger visitors will need an adult to join them on the adventure.
If you're ready to kick off the spring season with an outdoor adventure, plan a hike with one of the friendly four-legged friends at Hemstreet Farm Llamas for a trek that will leave you grinning from ear to ear.
