You Might Not Like These Predictions About North Carolina's Upcoming Peak Allergy Season
If you’re like us, then each year when the warm spring weather hits the Tar Heel State, you naturally open the window and doors to let in the fresh air and warmer temperatures. It’s a welcome change after a winter spent with things all closed up to keep our living space warm. We seem to get so wrapped up at the mere notion of spring each year… that many of us forget the dreaded yellow scourge that will soon cover everything.

Soon, our cars, our homes, and everything inbetween will be covered with the dreaded yellow dust that affects each of us differently.

Or not! We've never had a great track record for avoiding the effects of the allergens that swoop in seemingly overnight and take over our lives.

You're only tracking in the yellow scum that's the culprit behind running noses, itchy eyes, and endless sneezing.

As much as we'd love to have them open to let in the fresh air of springtime, it's just not worth it, is it?? Vacuuming often also helps. (Don't forget to use a HEPA filter and empty the bag, or clean the reservoir often.)

While we can't completely avoid allergies in the upcoming weeks, there are some precautions that will help reduce the misery. As a last resort, over-the-counter allergy medications (with the approval of your primiary care physician) can also help.
