Fancy a little surf and turf? Well, there’s one particular restaurant right in the heart of Cajun Country that offers the best of both, and it’s absolutely worthy of a pilgrimage. Let’s check it out.
When longtime friends Phil Faul and Pat Bordes decided to open a restaurant in 1999, they had no clue it would become such a local favorite.
Fezzo’s Seafood, Steakhouse, & Oyster Bar originally opened in Crowley, but there are now three different locations. The Scott location opened up in 2000 and the Broussard location opened in 2016.
The restaurant’s unusual name comes from Phil’s father.
Growing up in Church Point, Phil’s father played with his mother’s empty wooden spools as toys. The Cajun French word for these spools is "Fezzo," and he carried them with him everywhere he went. In fact, it was so rare to see him without them that the local mailman starting calling him Fezzo - a nickname that stuck with him for life.
If you’re a steak and seafood lover, there’s no better place to find a flavorful meal.
Fezzo’s has been serving up epic dishes for two decades, so they’ve had plenty of time to perfect their recipes.
From fried seafood to hearty po’boys, there’s something for everyone on the menu at Fezzo’s.
Pictured above is the sampler appetizer, which is loaded with fried mushrooms, hush puppies, boudin balls, and Fezzo’s famous fish bites.
The charbroiled oysters at Fezzo's are out-of-this-world.
You can order them by the half-dozen, or get a full dozen for the table to share!
Can’t decide on what type of oysters to pick? No problem.
Fezzo’s oyster sampler features all of their specialties. It comes with charbroiled, Rockefeller, Monterey Jack, and Cajun Crawfish oysters, so you don't have to choose!
The restaurant also serves up some truly tasty BBQ on weekends.
Stop by on Saturday or Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a finger-licking good meal. We suggest getting there early, as they sometimes sell out!
Whether you prefer seafood or steak (or love them equally), Fezzo’s is one timeless restaurant that's worth a visit.
