The owners of Hog Island Oyster Co. jumped at the chance to preserve this significant piece of Tomales Bay history. After all, the crab shack first opened all the way back in 1948 by a Croatian fisherman named Anton 'Tony' Konatich.
The Konatich family ran the restaurant for three generations, serving up the freshest seafood to both locals and travelers. It's evident that this isn't your typical restaurant. It's a piece of Marshall history.
The beloved seafood joint is famous for their insanely delicious and fresh daily catches. You can never go wrong with a plate of local Dungeness crab, roasted with garlic-herb butter and served chilled with chive aoli.
However, a visit to Tony's wouldn't be complete without trying out their most popular item: BBQ oysters. These freshly caught oysters are grilled to perfection before being smothered in a house-made BBQ sauce, garlic, and butter. Each bite is absolute heaven!
