Growing up, I wished I could sing a tune to get enchanting creatures to flock to me. Snow White and Cinderella made it look so easy. However, there is a place in Maryland where you can be surrounded by rare butterflies, and you can keep the singing to yourself. Brookside Gardens is a gorgeous destination located in Wheaton, Maryland. The outside gardens are perfect for strolling...
...and there are also indoor exhibits and greenhouses to take in the flowery sights as well.
Spring is our favorite time of year to visit, for obvious reasons.
Spring is also the time of year when the annual Wings of Fancy live butterfly & caterpillar exhibit opens.
Be aware that there is a fee for this part of the gardens.

Step right in, where dozens of free-flying butterflies surround you.

Watch the butterflies eat a little something sweet...

This is one Maryland attraction that you'll want to bring your camera to. The sights, smells, and butterflies all combine to make this a magical experience.
The Wings of Fancy exhibit runs from Wednesday April 17th through Saturday September 22nd. Keep those dates in mind, and bring the family!
